Charleston County Hosts Public Meetings for Proposed Sales Tax Referendum

 

Charleston County Government will host a series of public information community meetings to discuss the proposed sales tax referendum being considered by Charleston County Council and to receive public input. The meetings will be held in an open house format, no formal presentation will be made.

 

All meeting will take place from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

 

  • June 13, 2016 – North Charleston City Hall, 2500 City Hall Lane North Charleston,

     

  • June 15, 2016 – West Ashley High School, 4060 West Wildcat Blvd. Charleston

     

  • June 20, 2016 – St. Johns High School, 1518 Main Road Johns Island

     

  • June 22, 2016 –

     

  • June 23, 2016 - Jennie Moore School, 2725 Bulrush Basket Lane Mt. Pleasant

TOWN OF JAMES ISLAND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 

The James Island Town Council will hold a Public Hearing on proposed changes to the Town of James Island Zoning and Land Development Regulations Ordinance, including amendments regarding Small Animal Boarding, Pet Stores and Grooming Salons, and also amendments to protected tree requirements including adding requirements for Major subdivisions.

The Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, June 16th, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at  Town Hall, 1238-B Camp Road, James Island, SC (843) 795-4141. Information on the propose changes can be found here.

TOWN COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT – THURSDAY, MAY 19, 2016 7 P.M. AT TOWN HALL

 

Town Council will debate many items this week, including second and final readings on a proposed 2% Hospitality Tax, the FY 2016/2017 Annual Budge, and authorization of lease purchase financing for Town Hall. Also included on Thursday’s agenda is funding for the design of Dills Bluff sidewalk, Phase I, FY 2017 CTC Requests, a Resolution regarding amending the Tree Protection and Preservation Ordinance. This is a biannual meeting of Town, City, County, PSD, and state representatives who come together to discuss issues facing James Island. Included in tonight’s discussion will be the proposed development of The Lively, Traffic Signal Improvements, an Update on the Gathering Place, and more.
