Town of James Island Recognizes National Public Works Week

In recognition of National Public Works Week, the Town would like to feature some of our Public Works projects that have been completed this year.  Below you will see a picture of our new section of sidewalk on Dills Bluff Road.  This is part of a larger sidewalk plan in the Lawton Bluff/Honey Hill areas.  Soon we will be starting the construction of a sidewalk on Seaside Lane to connect this sidewalk on Dills Bluff Road to the existing one on Fort Johnson Road near the James Island Charter High School.

Next is shown a section of Sterling Drive which was stabilized with crushed rock to harden the existing dirt road to reduce potholes and dust and help with drainage.

Lastly we see neighborhood culverts in the Stonepost Subdivision that have been upgraded and repaired.  This is part of our ongoing program to bring our neighborhood drainage systems back to their original conditions so they can function as designed.
