DBi announces temporary closure of all lanes of traffic on the Wappoo Creek Bridge, SC-171 over the Intracoastal Waterway/Wappoo Creek. Detours will be in place. The work will occur on the following dates:
Sunday, May 19th through Thursday, May 23rd from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am
The temporary lane closure is necessary for performing deck repairs on the Wappoo Bridge. If further lane restrictions or weather forces changes, the public will be notified.
Detours will be utilized for the Work Zone and signs will identify the closure. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact DBi Project Manager Ritchie Rhodes, at 843-302-7442.

The James Island Intergovernmental Council will meet on Wednesday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 1122 Dills Bluff Road, James Island.
The James Island Intergovernmental Council is comprised of elected officials from the State, County, Town of James Island, City of Charleston, City of Folly Beach, and the James Island Public Service District and promotes connectivity between these entities in addressing key issues facing James Island.

"DHEC Public Notice Regarding James Island Creek"
Persons wishing to submit comments on either of the draft Enterococci bacteria total maximum daily load (TMDL) documents are invited to make these submissions in writing no later than 5:00 pm Monday, June 14, 2019, to: Banu Varlik, S.C. Dept. of Health and Environmental Control, Bureau of Water, 2600 Bull St, Columbia, S.C. 29201, or via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Persons may also contact Matt Carswell at email@example.com. The purpose of TMDLs is to calculate the amount of pollutant reduction necessary for an impaired waterbody to achieve and maintain water quality standards. Comments will be considered in development of the final TMDLs and addressed in a responsiveness summary to be provided to all commenters. Copies of individual TMDL documents can be obtained from the Bureau of Water web site: http://www.scdhec.gov/publicnotices/ or by calling (803) 898-3701, writing, or e-mailing at the address above. Section 303(d)(1) of the Clean Water Act (CWA), 33 U.S.C. § 1313(d)(1)(C), and the implementing regulation of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA, 40 C.F.R. § 130.7(c) (1), require the establishment of TMDLs for waters identified as impaired.
