Public Health Alert

There has been an uptick in rabies cases in SC, particularly in Charleston and Beaufort Counties.

SC DHEC attended the Town’s Neighborhood Council meeting last night and provided a lot of good, useful information. Please visit https://scdhec.gov/health/diseases-conditions/insect-or-animal-borne-disease/rabies for information on what to be on the lookout for, and how to respond to a possible infection whether its you or your pet.

If you see an animal that you suspect may have rabies, call Charleston County Animal Control at (843) 743-7200 (the consolidated dispatch center’s nonemergency number).
