Crime Alert

James Island has been hit by a rash of car break-ins. There is video of the criminals attempting to enter front and rear doors of homes. They have been moving from neighborhood to neighborhood working in the early morning hours. The Town's Island Sheriff's Patrol, the Sheriff's Detective and Patrol Divisions, and the City of Charleston Police are all working together to catch the criminals. I have asked the Island Sheriff's Patrol to devote more time to late night patrols. Please remember to keep your vehicles and homes locked, and do not leave valuables in your car. Call 911 if you see anything suspicious. If you have any photographic or video evidence that you haven’t yet turned over to law enforcement, you can email it to Sgt. James at sjames@charlestoncounty.org
