The Town of James Island is committed to preparing for, and assisting after, a variety of common emergency situations. In the event of an emergency situation, the Town of James Island will utilize various sources to provide information to the public, including posts on this page, emails to our Town News email subscribers, and posts on social media.
James Island participates in the Charleston Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan which is adopted by Town Council and reviewed/updated annually.
The current Hurricane Guide is available from the Charleston County Emergency Management Department and James Island recently held a hurricane preparedness workshop. The hurricane preparedness document is now available.
The Town is also dedicated to informing and educating the public. Please check back for more information as it is added frequently.
